I am coming down for a ST trip, I did Bradenton last year and this year Im hitting this area. Any advice on where to stay and not to stay? I want to stay on the water, so if you could tell me the "bad" areas that would be great!

Im not real worried about low income areas. I live just south of Camden, NJ where they ahev astronomical crime rates. Im worrie about legitimate cant walk down the street at night bad areas. Any help is appreciated!

Just stayed a few nights at the Holiday Inn on Clearwater beach 7th floor with a full Gulf view but no view of the beach and the place ranks very well with me and would not hesitate to stay there again. Just watch the concierge lack of appreciation for northerners. Or go ahead and make him appreciate them.

Stay on Clearwater Beach and you will have a good time, the area around the stadium is not bad either.
Check out Capognas Dugout on Gulf to Bay for some pretty good pizza and for catching other games.

You will have enough to do right in the area, bar and restaurant wise.
Not extremely walker friendly but not too bad.
