Default Second thoughts and opinions.....

Hi there, a while back I asked for area of suggustions for "safe" areas with decent schools since my husband and I plan on moving to the Tampa area with my 5 year old in June. We are coming down for a visit on the 10th of this month for a week to scope out areas.

It has been suggested to us from someone that is local to Tampa, but not on this board, that we should highly consider the areas of Westchase, New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, and South Tampa. My husband and I don't have any specific requests about any area other then low crime and good schools. We don't need a post office in walking distance and a grocer within 2 miles or anything...but I would love to hear any thoughts, opinions, etc on these areas. Thanks in advance and I can't wait to be down there to start deciding our future!!!!!

We live in Odessa and love it. We live close to the Veteran's Expressway so getting to Tampa is very easy as well as surrounding areas. We are close to lots of shopping, restaurants etc. My son is in kindergarten at Longleaf Elementary and we love his school. I don't know what you are looking for but there are a lot of houses for sale around this area. Good luck!

Do you know the location of your DH or your employer? All of the locations you mentioned are good as is Odessa but the commute can be up to an hour depending on where you work. The only other caution is if you are going to buy is to check out the $$ of HOAs and CDDs since they can add $$$ to your monthly payment

I would add Carrollwood to the list.
