I have already researched much of the forum, and I realize this type of question can become redundant, however myself and 4 to 5 other people are planning on renting a house in that area for a couple of years until we become a little more familiar with the area. We are all young 22 - 26 and enjoy night life. We are looking for somewhere a little outside the city, but with quick and easy access. Searching the internet for such a specific area has become tedious and I am really hoping some of the Tampa dwellers could point me in the right direction, maybe even some specific zip codes.

Thank you all in advance

I should also note we have around 2,000 a month to spend on rent

I really am starting to feel it's impossible to find burbs just south of Tampa. I would like to stay within a 20 minute commute.

IMO, the best zip codes in the south Tampa area are 33606, 33629, and parts of 33609 and 33611.

Thank you Karen for the reply. I will check out those zips. I should also mention that we would prefer a condo community with pool and fitness center.

Thanks again.

OK, but you originally said you wanted a house. There are not too many condos within the previous zip codes, but there are some. You can also look around downtown in zips 33602, 33603, and 33605. For nightlife, you will probably be going to the Hyde Park/SoHo districts and Ybor/Channelside which will be convenient.

Zip 33616 has many gems hidden here. Upscale condo/apts on Westshore blvd area.
