I found in another thread something that tampaguy03 wrote

My fav neighborhoods in South Tampa include Hyde Park, Davis Islands, Beach Park, Sunset Park, Golfview, Bayshore Beautiful, Bayshore Gardens, Ballast Point, Culbreath Isles, Culbreath Bayou, Bel Mar Shores, Palma Ceia, Virginia Park, Bayside West, Bel Mar Estates, Swann Estates, Courier City, SOHO. To be exact, most of 33629, 33611, 33602, 33607, 33609. Parts of 33616(some areas closest to the Base), are not as desirable to me, except right along Westhsore Blvd on the Bay. Even in Port Tampa City there is some really nice older historic homes, and brand new construction.

Maybe this can do for now

What is your price range for a house? We forgot to ask that...

Hey, thanks guys! You rock!!! San72, I appreciate the digging!
Keeper, I'm thinking in the mid to high 3s. It seems like we can afford a palace for what our little ranch will sell for up here.
Thanks again!

Hi again -
Still digging around; noticed that there are some very highly-rated schools in Lithia. The school system is among my top concerns in considering the move - mostly just because it's a total unknown.
What's it like in Lithia? Can anyone give me a sense of the community vibe?
Thanks very much! Again!

Evaluating distance to work, traffic, resturants, shopping and schools, maybe consider the subdivisions in the northern part of Tampa such as the "Grand Hamptons" or "Cory Lake Isles" and "Seven Oaks", "Meadow Point" or "Wilderness Lake Preserve" in the Wesley Chapel and Land O Lakes area. Each one of these subdivisions have different character and are within your price range. Your hubby will appreciate the commute over Sarasota, however Sarasota is a beautiful place as well. Hopefully you will be able to make the trip down and look around the area soon and get a feel for the best place that will be comfortable for you and your family. Keep us posted and feel free to ask the forum any questions about specific areas!
