Default Leaving Tampa for Mobile, AL

Well we have only lived in Tampa (Brandon) for a year, but hubby is being tranferred to Mobile, AL. I have enjoyed Tampa and will miss it. We will still be able to get to beaches within an hour (about the same time from Brandon to Clearwater) and the cost of living is much cheaper which is good. There's a lot more "Southern hospitality" too. I will really miss looking out the window and seeing palm trees though, the mild winters in Tampa (though the last few days its been cold), and my friends I have made at work. We never even did get to Disney since we've lived here but did go to Busch Gardens. So long Tampa!

Good Luck in your new home.. Hope you enjoy living in Mobile. It is a beautiful city full of history and some magnificent old homes. The seafood is wonderful there, although you won't find grouper offered there as much. Traffic can be as bad if not worse as in Tampa on certain roads.

Be sure to come back and visit the Tampa forum..

Enjoy the Southern Hospitality! That certainly never gets old, and hardly found in FL anymore! Good luck with your move. I have heard many good things about Mobile!

Mardi Gras starts there next week so if you are going there within the next month you will be able to see some beautiful parades. Mobile's Mardi Gras is not as wild as New Orleans, but still lots of fun.

Ya. We're leaving here next Friday so we'll be there for Mardi Gras. Actually Mobile celebrated Mardi Gras first before New Orleans ever did, but when N.O. did, it was bigger and rowdier (sp?).
