Whenever I'm in Tampa, Florida I miss the mountains and whenever I'm in Phoenix, Arizona I miss the beach. As I get older it's easier to walk on the beach then climb mountains. I hate cold weather but love Minneapolis - in the summer.

They say paradise is the place you close to vacation - so why don't we all live where we vacation?

Where is your paradise and do you live there - if not, why not?

Well, Paradise would be Hawaii......it would be too far from family to live there. If I had no family I might, but its quite expensive to live there full time.
Other then that I do love Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale by the Sea, and Murrells Inlet, SC.........
Would I live there?.......Yes, as I am older I do hate the cold too.....Reasons for not living there...
again is family.

My Paradise is the St. Pete Beach/Passe Grille/Tierra Verde area. I love the ocean and that area is just perfect.

AND I don't live there for several reasons. First, I can't afford it. Kinda expensive houses and INSURANCE. Secondly, the employment situation isn't that good and since we both have jobs, we HAVE to stay put for the moment. AWWWW, maybe someday...... IF I win the lottery.

I lived in Hawaii as a child. I've always wanted to return there - but family is in Tampa - Hawaii is my paradise.

I wrote this post because I read so many negative coments on this forum about Tampa - and I really like Tampa Bay.
I'm living in a part of the country that has a better economy - but so what - $ are not everything!
The dollar is not even the most important reason to decide where to live - you should live where your paradise is! I'm ready to pack my bags and move back to the beach!

Life is too short to be unhappy just to earn more $.

Every time I drive down 75 heading for Tampa I start feeling better - At the Welcome center I get out of my car and take a deep breath of that warm humid air.

When I cross over the beautiful scenic causeway from Tampa to Pinellas I always say "this is such an amazing place" - Yes - I'm back in paradise!

My choice would be San Clemente, California. A very nice southern california beach town that is approx 60 miles from San Diego and 60 miles from LA. If money was no object, I would live within walking distance of the beach, where I can catch waves everyday and enjoy a nice climate and nice topography.

I do love the tampa bay area though. It isn't too bad.

Many parts of FL would be my paradise, say 15-20 yrs ago... somewhere along the northern FL coast. Too crowded and congested and transient now. Although parts are still "old FL" feeling. Now, I'd say winters and spring in Cedar Key or St Augustine areas, and nestled in the NC or N GA mountains (with an incredible view) in the fall and winter months. This is if I were retired.

But if I could just choose one place, and it werent soooooo far away, Hawaii.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who had this inner struggle. Problem is I love it all, Rocky Mountains in Utah, and the beach down here. Back and forth I go in my mind.....

Paradise starts with peace of mind. Everyday can be a wonderful day no matter where you live. I'll choose that existence, and hope some downhill skiing gets thrown in for good measure. That's my plan anyway...in the meantime I'll enjoy this amazing weather and sunshine today.

I grew up in Tampa, lived there for 17 years...

My paradise is where I am now...

Dont get me wrong, I love Florida and I love my hometown but I just can't live there. Florida makes it too hard for people to survive. Cost of living, Low wages, Taxes, ect, ect.. It's just too much.
