Churches in Lutz
Hi my husband and 2 daughters 12 and 4 are considering moving to Lutz. We currently go to a non-demominational church that is modern and the kids classes are great. I have been looking at churches like Grace Family Church and Heritage Christian Center online. Any other suggestions or any thoughts on these 2?

I used to go to GFC when I lived and Tampa and it is where my parents still go. I know choosing a church is a very personal decision, but for me, it was my home! I can't recommend it enough. There is lots of activity over there and the kids will be well taken care of. Give it a couple Sundays to see how you like it.

Sounds good, thanks, does anyone know the size of GFC? It looks like a mega church so is it in the thousand's?

The local megachurch in Lutz is Idlewild Baptist Church, with over 10,000 members... GFC is big, but not that big... I think every weekend they average between 2,000-4,000?? It's been awhile, so I'm not sure. I think they do a good job of "staying small" while growing big. They really emphasize serving and small groups, thus eliminating that "lost in the crowd" feeling. Realistically, you're not going to know everyone personally, but everyone really makes an effort to integrate everyone and be accessible.

They are both great churches. And different in style. Idlewild is awesome and traditional mostly. with some contemporary music as well. You can really feel the Holy Spirit There. Their drama and chorus program for all ages on Wed. Kidsquest is great. The kids really enjoy it.
Grace is also good, Its a matter of where the Lord leads you and what you feel when you are there right . Oh by the way on Fridays there is a kids program for middle schoolers, the kids really like.
Good luck and I hope your move is a positive one.
