Gulfport/Stetson (Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota: job market, law school, law)

Hi all!

Im new to the site! My fiancee and I are looking to relocated to the Tampa Bay area. I am looking at going to Stetson Law School.

I have been to the area, and we are visiting again in May.

How difficult is it to get into Stetson Law School? My gpa currently is 3.5 and I am yet to take the LSAT.

What is the Gulfport Area like? Some of the areas seem kind of run-down.

Also, how is the job market in Gulfport?

Any help would be appreciated!

Stetson is relatively easy to get into. It's a private school though, so it's expensive. There is housing immediately around the school that you might like but there's not much of a town there. Gulfport itself is a sleepy little town with one main street. It's cute, but it's no bustling metropolis. You won't likely find work there. Stetson is "in" Gulfport by postal code only, you have to drive from one to the other. You will be in the Tampa Bay area, nearest to St. Petersburg. Plan on commuting - Sarasota and Tampa are near enough to commute to.

I will be attending Stetons in about 3.5 yrs. (once I am done with my bachelor's). I heard good things about it, but the only downfall-as eastern roamer said, it's private and very expensive. Put it like this, it's about 2-3 times MORE expensive than UF school of Law.
