Sun City is a huge 55+ community not sure if they are rented out. I believe there is also one in Dade City. There are some apts but many of them are income based. I know Rocky Creek has some that are mobilehomes made into apts in Tampa.

Maybe someone knows if there are any in Clearwater or St Pete

Lakeview of Largo is private, not a rental community, but there are often units for rent.
This is a great location close to the beach at Indian Rocks, mid county Pinellas, close for St Pete and Clearwater, very safe, walking to shops, and right on a bus line (bus station around the corner, but not a huge one, so not lots of noisy bus traffic). Safe to walk, lots of medical facilities nearby, banks, pharmacies, regular stores and a walmart neighbourhood market opening in May. If you are interested, I'll take a look at their noticeboard and see if there are any rentals. how many beds, and what kind of rent?
It does have a great management too, so its a good place to buy, if you want to be near the beaches and in a nice residential location.
