Buc fans like myself are in for a rough season unless we pick up a franchise type QB. Luke McCown isn't going to cut it, imo. Good pick ups in Winslow and Ward. I'm returning to the TB area this coming summer. Look forward to attending a few games - I suspect that tickets will be at a bargain since the economy has hit some season ticket holders looking to sell off their tickets at face or less.

Very true about the economy and tickets. I have had buc's season tickets for, well this will be my third season, and renewels are down. Every year you can put in for a move to better seats and this season there have been a lot of options unlike the last two years. I don't go to many of the games, a buddy of mine bought my season off me last year and he plans to do the same this year which is fine by me. My wife isn't a HUGE football fan so we opt for a bbq and big screen. I agree with the QB comment. Always seems to be a issue with the bucs. It remains to be seen how Morris will do behind the wheel. I was never a huge gruden fan but I did like him. I thought he won on the makings of tony dungy's team.
Thanks for the links...my wife is burning through those websites as we speak!!

Hi docbest74,
If you're asking me about what i do and my wife well she's always been in the preschool business which for her it would be kind of easy to find a job but i'm in purchasing which is kind of hard to get a gob in that field; and i'm a die hard Buc fan and so is my wife this past season we got harrased when we went to that monday night game versus the freaking panthers...... By the way my friend lives in Lutz and on his road theirs 2 brand new custom built houses sitting on an acre each but the price range on those houses are $475,000 not sure if that's out of your range. Let me know i can get you the phone number of the builder if you want to look at them.

We took a fairly good teasing during that monday night game also. We didn't go but we were at a buffalo wild wings of course with our jerseys on. But hey, it was still a good time. Thanks for the suggestion on Lutz, but I think we aren't looking to spend more than 400k, and although an acre is nice, I really don't have the time to care for any large yard. We have found a few neighborhoods that I think are going to work for us. We are going to sneak away later this week for a long weekend and check some of them out. We are still a little hesitant to buy...all of my research says that the housing prices won't hit bottom till late 2010 and we may just rent for a bit and see how that goes.
I hear you on the job search. And it makes it so hard when you are 8-10 hours away. I've always said my wife should be in purchasing cause man does she love to spend money! haha
Good luck to you guys though. I know how it feels to not be happy with location. We are soooooo anxious to get back to Florida. Charlotte aint bad, just not for us.

Lightning season ticket holder here.
Along with Brandon I'd recommend East Lake Woodlands on the otherside in Oldsmar where my girlfriend and I, both in our 30's, live. It's located in a gated community with regular security patrols, not that they really need them much as the entire area is safe. It's got 2 private 18 hole golf courses, a club house, swimming pools(though you have to join the club to use them) and there are a lot of young professional families and couples here.
It borders on the Brooker Creek Preserve so it's quiet and has lots of tall trees(pretty rare for Pinellas Co.). It's also close to many restaurants, shopping, malls(Countryside Mall has a skating rink), and the Tampa Bay Skating Academy about a mile down the road where you can watch or play adult or youth league hockey games. It's about 10 minutes to Honeymoon Island, 30 minutes to Clearwater Beach and 30 minutes(more depending on traffic) to the St. Pete Times Forum.
Here's a link to East Lake Woodlands real estate that might give you an idea of the wide range of home prices and the individual neighborhoods within the community... http://www.eastlakewoodlandsrealestate.com/
Yeah, the Lightning have had a rough year the past couple of seasons but it'll get better as long as they keep the core players and build up the blue line. At least they lowered season ticket prices for next year, as low as $239 for the season for the last 7 rows. And we also have the Rays to offset the Lightning's recent transgressions. It'd be hard to live without NHL hockey though. So glad this area had a team before we moved here and Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals was without a doubt the greatest sports event I've ever witnessed in person including CFB national championships(including the 2001 Rose Bowl), Super Bowls, the World Series, Cal Ripken's 2131, Final Fours, etc...
I always say, the worst hockey game is still better than the NBA's best.
That's the great thing about this area, there's always something out there to fit everyone's interest.

Oh...it is soooooo nice to hear somebody else with my love for the game! I grew up in Florida and the year before the Stanley Cup I had a friend give me some tickets to a Lightning game...I knew nothing about hockey but now it is, as you say, the best live action sport out there!!!!! We are so excited that I won't be watching the games next season and see my buddy seating in MY SEATS!!!!!!! Thanks for the link...we will check it out. And look forward to the games! Just look for the loudest couple in section 126...that's us...acting like fools!!!

Yea we did. Well not for sure but like 98%. The wife is leaving for Florida on Sunday and hopefully by monday or tuesday she will lock in a place and I will be left here to pack and load a uhaul! UGGGG! haha. I hope to follow her and be down in Florida by the middle of the month.
We are pretty set on Wesley Chapel area. It will a little far for my work but I don't mind driving and since I leave sooooo early in the morning the traffic won't be as bad. She also has a job interview on Monday so hopefully that will go good for her. I'm sure it will, so she will be excited to get back to work. She stopped working a week ago and is starting to go stir crazy.
How bout you guys??? Any luck on the job thing??

Holy cow. Antsy after a week? I'm going to try retiring (I'm a nurse/45 yr old) this summer. I'm hoping I don't miss work. You've got me scared.
