Oh, for pete sake, that is so not true. We have had many auto mechanics and all have been very good to us. Quit spreading your nonsense.

By "serviced" I meant recharged...some states in the West make it a challenge to recharge an AC...(that whole Freon thing )

I recharged my AC myself before I moved down to Florida. But my boyfriend also works at a Toyota dealership so he services my car whenever it needs it and obviously I trust him implicitly. But I know several people who have a trusted mechanic.

Also YES it is difficult living in Tampa Bay without AC. I wouldn't do it but I still haven't fully adjusted and would probably melt. lol

Thanks for all the positive feed back!

Little update: We've moved to a nice villa community in Safety Harbor and could not be happier! I absolutely love the community feel in Safety Harbor. We're adopting a dog and have lots of family coming down in the fall for vacation now that we've got a 2 bedroom.
Good things happen to people who don't just wait for them to happen... make it happen people!

haha, gotta watch those mechanics like a hawk. But I think that's universal.

No, A/C repair is second only to brakes and oil changes around here.

This was one of the best threads I've read about Tampa...I too am planning on moving to the Tampa area from Baltimore. Hopefully it'll be towards the end of the year/early next year. I don't mind the heat humidity, since it can get unbearable here, but at least no more multiple feet of snow.

Thanks everyone.
