If I don't find an apartment my wife will have to sleep in the trunk!
My wife and I are looking to rent an apartment in the wesley chapel area. We are relocating from NC here in the next few weeks and just need an apartment until we find a house to buy. Can anybody that lives in that area recommend any apartment communities?? We are not overly concerned with price but more importantly want something that is nice, clean and most of all, safe. Walking distance to a shopping plaza or some restaurants would be a plus but isn't a must.
We have looked online at The Enclave at Richmond, Marquis of Tampa, Andover Place and The Gardens at Cross Creek but it is truly difficult to get a real feel for a place by looking at pictures. We ended up living next door to the ghetto in Orlando by "renting" online without talking to anybody first hand from that area.
Any input would be great. Appreciate it.

I lived in Wesley Chapel and there's no ghetto there. It's all new subdivisions with new shopping. I would go to walkscore.com and type in the various addresses to get a feel for what shopping/restaurants are within walking distance. But honestly, anything in Wesley Chapel is going to be nice.

I know someone who lived in the Enclave apartments. She really liked it. I know of a family that rents an apartment near the Seven Oaks development and likes it there. Seven Oaks is really nice too. They are near several small strip malls that have a bagel shop and such. Sams club is right nearby too. A little further (you will need your car) is a new mall (Shops at Wiregrass). They just opened up maybe 3 to 6 months ago. In The Enclave you can walk to some stores, restaurants and movie theater, but it is right next to Bruce B. Downs Blvd and they are just starting construction to make it wider due to problematic morning/evening congestion. You are going to have a difficult time to just get out and walk to stores. Tampa area is not pedistrian friendly place or even bicycle friendly. When it is really hot, you may not want to be out walking.

Here's a test, put your wife, dog, and cat in your trunk. After one hour open it and then tell us which one is happy to see you.
