Default Tampa or Orlando?

So I was wondering which city is better for a young 23 year old as myself. I'm semi big on nightlife so that's not a huge selling point. I am looking for a city that keeps up with itself, isn't to ghetto and just friendly over all. Hows the crime in either city and what are the areas to stay away from? Hows the traffic, dating scene, colleges? Any help would be great thanks.

IMO, Orlando is more touristy where as Tampa is better to live. Both cities have great nightlife. I believe Tampa has more though, And centrlized areas such a Ybor, and Channelside. Tampa has more Ghetto, but its a bigger city so thats a given. Both also have nice areas. Tampa has a beautiful waterfront. Traffic sucks in both. I think Orlando's is worse. Orlando has U of Central Florida, Tampa has U of South Florida and U of Tampa. Dating scene? same I guess.

TAMPA, AND MULTIPLY THAT BY ONE MILLION MORE TIMES.....I cannot advice anyone (even enemies) to move to Orlando....we've spent 4 years living there and it was a nightmare from every aspect you can possibly imagine. Crime is the worst in Orlando....and it's everywhere....Tampa has a getto and you don't have to go there....

As far as traffic, in Florida we can't expect anything different, everything is spread out soooooo much and there isn't any valid form of public transportation available.......so, anywhere you go in Florida you will have to deal with traffic....You need a car here....Unless a miracle happens and we get to have electric buses coming every 5 minutes, super clean like in Germany or other cities in Europe.

TB Fla, crime in Orlando is notoriously worse than Tampa. I don't know what you're sourcing that claims Tampa has a bigger ghetto, but I'd take a bigger ghetto over a higher crime rate any day...
Traffic in Tampa is a dream after living in Miami for 3 years... Orlando's traffic is bad too, but not like Miami. Out of the three, I'd much rather drive in Tampa.
I'm not a big nightlife guy either, but both Tampa and Orlando have a plethora of bars/clubs/restaurants/theaters/concert venues etc... to stay busy with. Both have good local independent music scenes.
I don't know Orlando's neighborhoods well enough, but I can tell you there is no place in Tampa I wouldn't "stay away from." That's not to say some places aren't more questionable than others, but I've been everywhere in Tampa and feel fine being there.
Also, remember that when people say Tampa, they sometimes are referring to the metro area, which includes St. Petersburg, Clearwater and everywhere in between. Combine these areas, and it is much bigger than Orlando.
