Default Looking for a nice safe town between Tampa and Clearwater

I will be moving to Florida in the next few months, I took a sales job and the office is in Clearwater with my territory in Tampa. Looking for a town between the two as I will be splitting time between the two. Looking for a suburb and not the city.

A little about me. I am 28 and my boyfriend is 30. We do not go to bars are clubs, so nightlife is not super important. We do like going for dinner though. We are looking to rent a house in a nice, safe area close to the water. How much are rentals out there. Looking to rent for a few months before buying. I just have no idea where to start looking. I have spent hours on these boards and there are a lot of contridictions.

I really have so many questions and am having trouble putting them into words.

Thanks in Advance!

That doesn't give you much area to look for....the water is just too much.
Nice areas to look near Clearwater are Safety Harbor, Oldsmar among others.

It is strange but Clearwater seems to complete mesh into Tampa, with no real space or defined "towns" in between.

is your office in downtown Clearwater or Clearwater Beach?

I might suggest Dunedin (a great little beach town) or Safety Harbor. I am not vouching for Safety Harbor, as I have not spent a lot of time there, but I hear its pretty nice. There is also Palm Harbor, but its a bit north of Clearwater/Tampa. Oldsmar is a town in that area too, although once again, I have only heard things (good) about it, and cannot personally recommend it to you.

I would also look into Rocky Point. It is a part (neighborhood) of Tampa but it is about the closest thing to Clearwater. Nice water views and cool places to go. A very central location.

I do love Dunedin though. It has a fantastic downtown and lots of cool restaurants and bars. Also a seemingly thriving art scene, open minded community, and close to the beach are all bonuses. But it is way more on the Clearwater side.

Good luck with the new job!

Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs if you travel to North Tampa, this area is good if your territory goes beyond Tampa, you can easily take SR-54 to I-75 and avoid Tampa traffic.
Oldsmar/Safety Harbor/Countryside area of Clearwater are really central you can go either South or North Tampa
North St. Pete if you travel to south Tampa.
