How are the roadways in and around Tampa? What I mean is are they beat up and have pot holes everywhere or are they pretty well kept up? Regardless of where you are, are the roads pretty well kept up with even in this economy?

Most of the major streets are, in my opinion, good or at least adequate. Interstate 275 and the freeway part of State Road 60 are undergoing widening and reconfiguration, so some bad surfaces are to be expected until they finish that up. As far as neighborhood streets go, I've found that it really depends on the neighborhood a lot of the time. Richer neighborhoods, as well as most suburbs, seem to have a nearly always freshly-paved and painted streets. Poorer neighborhoods tend to have more potholes and missing pavement. This isn't always the case, of course.

Well, all of this comes from my observations. Who knows?

Florida roads are pretty good. They don't get torn up like up North. We don't have to use salt in the winter to de-ice the roads. Also, roads need to hold up well for hurricane evacuations. Florida roads are built better for this reason.

You can tell there is an election coming up because in Polk county they seem to do all the road work at that time of the year.

Florida roads are good but there are still roads that get potholes where they just do a patch job on them and then when the next big rain hits the pothole is back.
