Remember when there were only 2 Taco Bells in Tampa? One out on Hillsbrough and one on Busch.

I was born in Tampa and moved away in '90 but came back in 2000. People said we should look for a house in Wesley Chapel. Wesley Chapel? Never heard of it before.

I remember that concert..It rained IIRC and this kid in front of us got so drunk he passed out after getting sick all over the place. There was also a kid who came up to us and said something I did not hear but my friends said he was selling MJ.

what a pain in the butt that was, even only being a kid then i remember it sucked havin to take 41 or go wayyyy out over the skyway.

not that tampa roadways have improved much over the years. still find it ridiculous that you cant get north out of town except on 275. bet the people in lutz wish they had let the veterans get built out back then...as you can barely move on those roads thru there nowadays.

does anyone else have a soft spot for crawdaddy's/old whisky joes...and the dingy but awesome bar OP's on the causeway.

I remember when Dale Mabry was 2 lanes and there was no stores or restaurants North of Busch Blvd. TnC was the new place to live and Hillsboro was 2 lanes.

Default Keep the memories ALIVE!

Nice memories GypsyChic!-I am glad you like my new book! I am so happy that folks are enjoying those great old scenes of 1950s and 1960s Tampa!
Hey does anyone remember the old "Hillsborough Theatre" on Hillsborough Ave near Himes? It was originally a drive-in, but they added a theatre later and it was called the "rocking-chair theatre" - because it had these VERY COOL giant fluffy chairs that rocked, like a swivel rocker!! I LOVED that theatre!!!
