Tougher water rules bring flood of snitching
In my area we also have many water violaters and people who just don't care when to use their sprinklers and are watering on the wrong days which is causing to much water on one day in between the homes and than causing mosquitos, bacteria's to spread around these area's.
Yesterday we received a letter from the Pasco utility company that we are getting new meters for our reclaimed water and we are going to pay according to what you use...
I guess that might change the habits of some people without anybody having to call the county.

When I lived in Palm Harbor (6 years ago) we had a meeting in our sub-division concerning the installation of reclaimed water lines and the costs to expect. The eventual savings would have it paying for itself in 3-4 years. The air was filled with optimism and we were sure this was a go. Much to our surprise, after a vote was tallied, 'no' to reclaimed water.

I understand the need for watering restrictions, but it's a two-edged sword. People who live in nicer communities with deed restrictions are required to have a nice green and manicured lawn, or they run the risk of being harassed by the neighborhood gestapo. So on one hand, risk getting fined by a neighbor who rats you out or risk harassment by the HOA...hmmm...I'll take the sprinklers, thank you!

Well my yard is very green and looks great and we are spending so little time on it as possible. I have the sprinklers on but not too long.
On the side 5 min., back yard 5 min., front yard 25 min. and the borders also 25 min....I do that on our watering day very early in the morning and the same day late at night. (our backyard has bahia and our front and sides has St. Augestine).
It is more important to now and than put stuff against bugs and fertilizer on it and I do that 2 times a year and maybe most important, don't mow so short, that is killing the sod overhere...
...no gestapo to be affraid off.
and enjoying our nice looking yard with as minimum time as possible of working on it.

Don't forget the water thieves! According to a water worker recently, those companies that sell lawn treatments (you know with the big trucks) will pull their vehicles up to an abandoned home and fill-er-up. The nerve of some people! That's just criminal.
