Whatever you do, don't make the mistake of majoring in accounting like I did.

I had actually considered that major at one time, but I decided to go the Human Resource Management route and just a regular Business major. Im hoping to do the double major.

There are plenty of accounting jobs out there, the hours just suck.

I just graduated from St Petersburg College (Main campus) and I highly recommend it. I have now moved on to USF Tampa, which is quite the commute for me. As with any college, there are professors you want to stay away from, but you will be surprised at the caliber of professors SPC has. I've heard that some of the teachers at SPC were harder than those at USF. As for USF check in to the St Pete campus as I think they do have a business school there. If I wasn't in engineering I would definitely be there.

If you're into law enforcement, accounting is one of the best ways to get into the FBI, etc. Become a Certified Fraud examiner, investigate white collar crime.

But there aren't many of those jobs though, certainly not around here. Meanwhile someone in another thread posted that they've been trying to get a government job for 2 years. LOL

As for me, I'm a CPA and I regret ever getting into accounting. The pay versus the long hours and sucky Florida wages clearly make it the biggest mistake of my life.
