need moving location advice
hi guys , first timer
Im highly considering a move from the north to your warm sunny state
I will be starting a landscape business and possily looking to purchase an existing one
up were i live there is a larger town with about 40,000. The average person makes 120k plus per year, and that includes the kids that just make 20 k or less. So basicly the average addult in this town makes 150-200k and that town is made up of 60% "mangers/professionals"
I do alot of high end work, for these ppl , most of my business. Examples - 200 foot high retaining wall systems above a lake., Indoor salt water shark pond in a commercial building with 3 tear water fall.
Is there a town with in 30 mins of tampa that has similar types of income levels? Im not just looking for small communties with 1000 ppl. -
thanks any other advice?>

Sounds like a risky move in these tough economic times. It would seem that landscaping type of projects would be very low priority to a person who may have just lost a substantial value to their home. I believe the job loss rate in the TB area is pretty high lately. I'd be very careful about establishing that type of business in FLA. Also, there will be ample competition as well.

a good portion of my business is in maitenance as well, the grass will always grow. But i will say that the construction aspec of it did slow down a little
how about the commercial side of things. strip malls, shopping centers, and apartments/condos with landscaping?

Good luck you will need it. Landscapers are a dime a dozen here.
You better do some research and see what you are up against.

Agree. Most use low wage immigrant workers, it appears.
