Default Which have better schools Brandon, Riverview, Lithia

I will be transferring to MacDill AFB in August with my family. We have an 8-year old son. Which area has better schools - Brandon, Riverview or Lithia? I'll probably be taking the HART bus to MacDill AFB from wherever we end up living. Thanks.

Here is a spreadsheet that has all the schools and their respective grades - this should help in your decision making. You want to check out the individual school, not the city, because each school varies.

Valrico and Lithia -- in Valrico the elementary schools would be Lithia Springs (Twin Lakes and River Hills communities), Cimino and Alafia (Bloomingdale East communitites). Lithia would be Bevis and Fish Hawk Elementary in the Fish Hawk Communitites. Bevis would probably be the most astringent and best rated, however I heard that they no longer have recess. You can't go wrong in either of these communities and there's tons of military people living there. Not sure if your son plays baseball, but the Bloomingdale Little League has an excellent set up for both boys and girls to play.

Default Also moving to Largo/Tampa area - need info on schools

My husband is in USAF, but will be working out of Largo. We have the option of living on McDill AFB. I understand that Tinker Elem there is a good school. I need advice on living on base as opposed to living near Largo and what schools are best for a high school athlete, middle schooler and elementary. (yes, I have them in all 3) I would also like information on smaller private, charter and/or Lutheran schools in the area also.

Any advice is appreciated. I'm nervous about the move. Coming from very rural small area.
