Default Chinese Drywall concerns

Did anyone see this article on the front page of today's paper? I have clients who live in the community of River Walk but this is not the only area being affected. This is a big deal. If you bought a home built in the 2002-2005-ish timeframe, you may wish to have your home tested if you are experiencing any issues like those mentioned in the article. I know for a fact that MI Homes and Lennar homes have had a some issues with Chinese Drywall.

lead paint for toys and now toxic drywall. i wonder what the next health hazard from the far east will be. i read the article and I feel terrible for the home owners in that situation.

What do you mean - why would there be mold? It depends on the home I suppose - any home could potentially have mold...

Yes if you look at the copper pipes inside the A/C handler, they often turn black. As will the copper wiring inside an electrical outlet.

If you ask my 5 year old grandson why his toy fell apart he will tell you " Oh, it's because it was made in China". Even the little ones know. All the years it took to make our products safe - gone - we don' tmanufacture hardly anything anymore. Worse yet we don't test the stuff we import till after the fact. A broken toy we are used to but a toxic house is way out of the park.
