Not really. Gibsonton has it's sleazy parts, but overall I've always thought it to be a working-class/retirement area.

Gibsonton has a different type of zoning which allow different types of trailers and exotic animals on properties. There fore it has been a haven for "Carnies" and other types of migrant type of workers. Gibsonton also has some nice "Deed Restricted " sub-divisions and a new popular Super Wal-Mart.

Riverview has pockets of small stand-alone trailers and shacks as it is still "rural" zoned in some areas. It also has large suburban communitite and strip malls like most of Hillsborough County. Both Gibsonton and Riverivew are going through transition from a rural area to suburban, much like Brandon, Odessa and Wesley Chapel went through 10-15 years ago.
