Parents take stand in lawsuit over son's death...another LOL death..21 yrs old...sad story!
Their lives were shattered April 24, 2005, when their 21-year-old son was strangled to death in a fight outside the McDonald's at 2420 Land O' Lakes Blvd. He and a friend, Richard Hoadley Jr., had gone through the restaurant's drive-through about 4:30 a.m. to pick up food after a night out.

"Could have been prevented had a security guard been on duty". Mmm...yeah. Could have been prevented if two young men hadn't been fighting in the McDonald's parking lot, too. Try some personal responsibility, gang.

I agree....if you going thru a drive in why do you get out of the car if you have nothing else to do than get food...I feel sorry for the family but what are people doing in the middle of the night at parking lots if it wasn't for traveling and taking a break from driving.

*sigh* seems like all your posts are about someone getting killed in the area or something with a negative connotation. Maybe some of you enjoy it, but seeing it on the news everyday is enough for me.

I don't understand how a choke hold is considered justifiable. There were other kids there as well? Why did the murderer have to choke this guy until he died? Wasn't one minute enough? And why didn't anyone try to break up the fight? Well--the poor parents. Not McDonald's problem, but I can see why they feel the need to find someone to blame. How absolutely terrible for them.

Maybe you look at it from the wrong direction....no parent will enjoy this and if nothing is done to get parents to watch and raise their kids them self instead of having them raise them self in the street, this subject will become a daily issue.

Some of us comment because we see it as a society going in the wrong direction. So the parents think that some minimum wage security guard is suppossed to risk their life because their drunken son mouthed to some guy twice his size?
Just like the 17 yr old who was shot. Many don't seem to get that he shouldn't have been out at 2am drinking. Where are the parents?
I guess you think ignoring it is the answer. How about maybe some parent will think twice about what their kids do and ask some questions about where they are going and who are they hanging out with.
Granted in the case of the 21 yr old you can't control what they do, but you can instill in them some values and some smarts.
Like don't drink to the point where you think you can fight with someone who is twice your size.
