Here is Forbes list of the fastest falling neighborhoods in the US:

America's Fastest-Falling Neighborhoods - Yahoo! Real Estate

So, if you judge by this, where Florida is not even mentioned, you realize just how BIG that bubble was in some places......

The fact that Florida is not even mentioned there is not because we are doing so well here.......it is because our market is already down so low that it is no longer flash news!

Case-Shiller shows that California, Florida and Arizona are the three states that are getting destroyed wrt property values.
20 Metro Case-Shiller shows that the Nation is down, on average, around 36% since the peak in late 2006.
Florida is down around 42-43% since the peak.
Tampa and Saint Pete are around the same (according to Zillow).
Lately it's gotten better, instead of being down 1.2% month over month it's slowed down to -.7% month over month.
Of course this is during prime house buying season.

very true, I knew that from my husband who works in real estate.....but it seems that people from other media venues are avoiding mentioning Florida anymore since it made news for such a long time...it seems as they finally starting to look elsewhere where the market was affected negatively.
