Help.......My husband and I are having a house built, because the house we are renting was put up for sale shortly after we renewed our lease the lease is effective until October....The property management co wants us to pay 2 mnths rent even if we move out, they are keeping our security deposit and they want us to assist in showing the home to potential buyers.....Is this fair and can they do this to us????????

They can do it - you have a lease - technically they could get you for the whole lease amount through October if they wanted to really be nasty. But I don't see how you should have to assist them in finding new tenants, that's their job - other than allowing reasonable access to the house for them to show it. Sorry for the bad news!! But it's totally legal and pretty standard for them to charge the two months - not as sure about the security, but I do think they have that right.
