Visiting Tampa tomorrow (last minute decision!) oops! (Clearwater: 2009, hotels)

Well, regardless of it being last minute, I'm coming! I am trying to finish school in Tampa, and its about 45 mins from Clearwater Beach. I am looking for a nice hotel on the beach for the weekend. I have been contemplating relocation from Atlanta for about a year now and I think I am going to drive down to get a feel for the city and see what its like before I continue to pursue this move.

Any suggestions for a single, mixed race, 25 y/o woman?

Nice Hotel on the beach for the weekend? You dont mention price or anything else, so i'll say the Don Cesar on St Pete Beach or Sand Pearl on Clearwater Beach.
