Dunedin.....am I missing something?
I hear so little mention of Dunedin in any of the forums. Have not visited but have been googling it a lot and me appears like a great little place with low crime, coastal community with a great beach, a walking/biking friendly community=pinellas trail, reasonably priced real estate, quaint downtown area with nice shops/restaurants, close to a major airport (Tampa), close to a major city (Tampa), etc. Am I overlooking something? Why does this town look so appealing on line? Is it really as nice as it seems?
I started another thread stating that I am looking for a town/city which resembles some of my favorite New England towns (okay, I know this is FL, not New England and the two are not at all alike). Sounds to me like Dunedin is similar and a few people have suggested it but just looking for more input.
Thanks!

It's a wonderful little town with a pedestrian friendly downtown area. If your'e
thinking of buying, do your research, some areas have had sinkhole problems.

It seems to be recommended a lot in this forum. Maybe it's just me.

I second f111 in that Dunedin gets to be mentioned a lot. If you see somebody asking for nice place to live in Pinellas County, you are certainly going to read about Dunedin, Palm harbor, Safety harbor and the likes.

IM always recommending Dunedin for those looking for a quaint little town near the coast, with a main street, village shops, cafes, pedestrian and bike friendly. What a great place!!

From living here for some time I have heard of the sinkholes in Spring Hill, Land o' lakes.
But your question about where to find such info is interesting... let's see if one of our RE brokers answer that .

One area that nobody ever recommends is Kenneth City. I'm continually fascinated by that place. I'd never, ever live there, but it's so strange.
