villas in Tampa bay area
Hi, I occasionally see one story villas for sale in the Tampa Bay area, mostly around Largo, St. Pete., and Clearwater. Does anyone know if these villas are on rented land, resident owned land, and if they generally have high association fees. They appear to be built better than maufactured homes, so I was interested in more infomation about them. Thanks.

Villas are one story conglomerates of housing here. the others which have various floors are called condos here in FL. They usually are on resident owned land, which all of them own, and their HOA fees vary according to the complex itself and what facilities they offer.

Thank you. I did notice that the HOA fees varied amongst the ones I found on the web, but I was not sure of the land ownership which I feel is better than renting.

Villas may also be attached or detached, conveyed fee-simple (with land), land lease (land rented), or condominium (fractional ownership usually of common areas). You have to look up the parcel's land use and deed to know how title is transfered.

Thank you for all the info. I also hope there are some that do not have super high HOA fees.

HOA often incompass lawn care, security, insurance, roofing, maintenance, garbage pickup, cable, pool maintenance, fitness center - all stuff that you'd pay for one way or another.

Thank you, that is true, all those services do cost money. Does anyone have a feel for any particular areas around Tampa, Large, St. Pete, or Clearwater, that have these types of villas? Thank you

What is your budget? Are you 55+? There are some places that have age requirements that is why I ask.

Yes, I am 55+ but not necessarily limiting looking at only those units. I am open to both kinds; no age limits and also 55+. I am also on a budget so any info on nice places would be a help. Thank you.
