Relocating....in need of help of neighborhoods.
My husband and I are looking to relocate to the Tampa area and we are just looking for some help in choosing the right neighborhood. We are looking for a nice neighborhood that is family friendly with low crime and good schools. We also would like a neighborhood with affordable home prices. If anyone could give us any suggestions, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!!!

I don't know about the options you've listed above, so I can't be much help there, but I'd recommend Dunedin or Safety Harbor FL. Both are near Tampa and nice places.

Riverview meets your criteria IMHO, however since you didn't state where you or DH will be working that could change MHO.
What is your budget?
What is an acceptable commute time (what area is job located)

I agree with Keeper as to where you will be working and what kind of budget we are talking about, before saying what kind of place would be good for you to live.

I wouldn't recommend any of those neighborhoods, they are all suburban cookie cutter neighborhoods, where you have to get into your car and drive 20 minutes to do anything. They put really big addresses on the houses so you can figure out which one is yours.

Well I am a nurse and I was hoping to work at the VA in Tampa, because I work at the VA now. My husband is currently in school and would probably transfer to USF.I would also like to have my commute time be around 20-30 minutes. For our buget we would ideally like to keep it under $300,000.

Valrico is highly rated as a good place to raise a family; we raised our daughter here and were happy with the schools and the relatively low crime (it's all relative, however). A lot will depend on your budget and other factors that are important to you, such as proximity to shopping, work, etc. A Google search regarding Valrico's being a family-friendly community will give you a great deal of information. Good luck!

This helps a lot. Based on your criteria, you should look in New Tampa (Zip 33647), the south section of Wesley Chapel (Zip 33543), Lutz (Zips 33548, 33549), Carrollwood (Zips 33618, 33624), Lake Magdalene (Zip 33613), and Temple Terrace (Zip 33617). Each of these suburbs will have homes in your price range and are within 20-30 minutes of USF & VA Hospital.
