Horrible........My son was given this as an option because he has a speech delay (nothing else but a speech delay) and they have an autism class, (I don't know why the Hillsborough country school district thought that was going to be an option for him), it was a mixed class meaning the kids are different ages and the school looks horrible and dirty and the teachers were old and overweight, there was NO WAY they could have run after my little guy, he would have gotten lost the first day if I had let him go to that school.... and there was literally NO TALKING in that class what so ever....the school is NOT fenced in and they lost several kids at different times....I wouldn't DRIVE by that school if you paid me.
Maybe others have had a better experience there, I was appalled that THAT was called a school!

I have NOT found one yet, he is doing speech therapy privately. Tampa is not friendly twoards children with delays, it is either for extreme cases or very very mild....NOTHING in the middle. The other school is private and costs 10,000 a year!!! So ....

Didn't know is was private, I'm looking for public schools.
My kids are reasonably good in school..they get good grades...I'll keep on looking.
Do you have any info on the area Countryway?

Lowry is not private, the other option we found was...if your kids are good in school I can suggest you check out McKitrick elementary in Lutz. I don't like the area where Lowry is...others may....I don't like that there are a lot of trailer parks down there....You would be better off north In Lutz 33558 zip code, not the others...

The best schools in Tampa are either in South Tampa or the Lutz area. In Lutz, look into Schwarzkopf and McKitrick Elementary.

I live in Countryway. In fact I live in The Greens which is the community right across the street from Lowry. I have a daughter who is entering 1st grade tomorrow and I think its a great school. Its an A+ rated school and has been for several years.

Algia,
Your evaluation of Lowry Elementary is completely wrong. I went to Lowry from K-5 and have lived in the Greens (the neighborhood adjacent to the school) for the last 17 years. In fact, I walked to school every morning and afternoon, never with a problem. My experience at Lowry was great - great teachers, friendly environment, and SAFE SURROUNDING AREAS. I don't mean to attempt to shoot down your opinion, but I have to wonder what nearby trailer parks you are referring to, because there are NONE (only nice housing developments and new apartment complexes, within the vicinity). The closest trailer parks I can think of are about 4 miles away. Just thought I should clear up the truth - and correct the misinformed.
