Young Professional Moving to Tampa
I am a young professional (in my late 20s) that will be moving to Tampa to start a position at Moffitt Cancer Center. I am looking for an apartment to rent in the $800-$900 price range that’s near Moffitt and has a decent concentration of young professionals. Any recommendations would be welcomed. Thanks.

areas to avoid:
West of Moffitt (aka "suitcase city")
South of Moffitt (kinda ghetto)
Go North and Northeast into Tampa Palms and New Tampa as the previous poster suggested. Southeast takes you into Temple Terrace, and it's "mixed" depending on where you go.

Hey Sabynum!
My fiance and I are looking for places to rent in Tampa also, as we'll be relocating there on September 25th. Have you looked on apartments.com? It's a great website. I've been using it a lot the past few days. The only bad thing is that a lot of the places in Tampa (and Southwest Florida in general) kinda look the same and have the same amenities, so the photos can only do so much. It will really come down to the exact location of the building and the floor plan.
Just wanted to add my 2 cents - good luck finding a place!

Try MyNewPlace.com too. It's a really good site for finding apartments.

Check out apartment ratings and review.com. It will tell you what the residents think. Watch out for the condo conversions in New Tampa and Tampa Palms.

Sabynum,
That area is smack dab in the middle of college central, by that I mean it's chock full of USF students. As such I wouldn't expect to many peaceful nights on the weekends in any apartments. For young professionals you might try South Tampa which isn't really close and is expensive. I agree with above posters to try New Tampa.

apartment resources
Hi,
I moved to FL from RI about 5 years ago I used a company called apartment finders 813-961-1419. They will find you an apartment that will fit your needs and they know about all the great move in specials. You can also look online apartmentguide.com or apartmentfinder.com those sites should help as well. Moderator cut: signature
