Default Strawberry Ridge (Valrico)

I'm considering a move to the Tampa area within 6 months. Been trying to find a mobile home park that will accept my 60lb Doberman. I'm 55 and it will only be me, the dog and a cat making the move. About the only one I've found so far is Strawberry Ridge in Valrico. Anyone know anything about this park and what's Valrico like? Thanks in advance for any help and or advice!

One of my colleagues lives there and she loves it. She says it's a no-stress lifestyle and there are planned activities for those who want to participate. It's located in a rural area, but still pretty self-sufficient and close enough to Brandon for shopping.

Its a nice, rather expansive park just a mile or so from Home Depot, Lowes, Publix and Wal-Mart. you get that rural feel without being in the sticks. Very active residents with plenty of social events going on. Unfortunately, suburbia is quickly approaching from the west but its still a nice place. The only downside, if you would call it that, is that is was built near a long extinct landfill. The landfill was filled in years ago so there is no danger. There is public water for the community instead of private wells. Its funny, most people dont even realize that the landfill was once there back when Valrico was just a rural stop sign on 60.

Valrico is nice. I don't know of the park, but the location that Nav gave is a nice area, fairly new.

My Father was head of maintenence there for 10 years so I've been around it quite a bit. Its a nice place if you like that sort of lifestyle... its the highest sea level of the county as well. There are a lot of fresh fruit/vegetable stands in that area too.

You live ten feet from your neighbor... not really any open space in your yard.

Well I don't want to have to deal with alot of maintance so don't want a single home. Figure a condo wouldn't take a big dog and I wouldn't have any personal outdoor space at all. Some it seems a mobile home would be my best bet. Live in a duplex now so ten feet from a neighbor isn't too bad! Any other suggestions would be welcome.

This may be just what you are looking for then. The property has virtually zero crime and is very close to Brandon/Valrico on the west and Plant City/Lakeland on the east. There are a lot of nice parks nearby (Aldermans Ford Park is my favorite of Any park in this area), vets, shopping, eatery's, etc.... and the interstate (I-4) is easily accessible from McIntosh road.

One thing I would suggest is investing in a nice bicycle, the roads are nice and you can have great early morning/early evening rides. The people for the most part are very nice but are very gossipy... very is an understatement.

You will meet people from all over the country and will most certainly meet people from where you originally came from. That diversity is very refreshing.

One other thing, the fruit stand that is right there on highway 60 makes the best strawberry shakes in the world!!

If you have any other questions I would be happy to answer... enjoy!!

KathiI live in Strawberry Ridge and absolutely love it! There are so many activities and things to do here both inside the park as well as outside and large dogs are always welcome. The area has alot to offer from restaurants to shopping. It is also easy to get to Tampa or Orlando where there is so much to offer. The beaches are not far away either.I moved to this park from NY and the reason I chose it was the close proximity to everything imaginable and the immenities of the park itself. My husband and I looked at many parks from Ft Myers to Zephyrhills, and kept coming back to this place.
