Default Pasco County house hunting

I just moved to Florida from Pennsylvania to take a job in St Pete and staying in an apartment for now.
I go house hunting in Pasco county and Ivy Lake is on the top of my list. I just checked the crime activities in Ivy Lake area and notice a lot of car theft, alarm of residence intrudance, child abuse, noise disturbance and stuff going on. Anyone knows if Ivy Lake is safe enough?
Anywhere else I should consider?

Thanks in advance!

Vin

Why live in Pasco if you're working in St Pete? that's a heck of a commute!!!!!??? Even North Hillsborough (Lutz) is a stretch.....I would look at South Tampa, or around St Pete, there are nice neighborhoods in St Pete.....

The Tampa area has high crime index everywhere.
My budget is < $200k so it's not easy to find a decent house other than the short sales in Pasco county.
I work near the Feather Sound area. I guess 30-40 mins between Ivy Lake and Feather Sound if I'm using Suncoast Parkway.
What are the good areas in St. Pete? South Pinellas county has high crime index as Tampa too. The house price might also be too high.

There are areas of Tampa who have a high crime index such as Seminole Heights usually the East side of Tampa, South Tampa has very nice areas....what you'll save on the home price you'll send on Tolls and gas.......Suncoast is a Toll road.

There are several people here who live in St Pete and can direct you to the nice and affordable areas there, personally I would want to spend THAT much time traveling to and from work.......

If you are working in the Feathersound area , there are areas much closer by for you to look for a place. You don't have to live so far away, and your budget for a house is not so low as to have to go that far...Are you working with a realtor? Because if you are not, you should. There are good brokers here in this forum who may be able to help. Don't buy anything until you see all the housing , in different areas where you may live.

There was some incident that happened here this last weekend. We had a community garage sale and someone from outside of the community came in and robbed someone that was having a garage sale. I haven't heard all of the details. But if I hear any more details I will let you know.

You might want to check in the Tyrone area of St Pete zip code 33710 and Bay Pines area 33708, too.
