Default Nice town north of Tampa?
I'm looking for a 2/2 SFH north of Tampa in a low tax, low crime area. Work & schools are not an issue. I just want something safe & quiet in the $35k range where I can get the most bang for the buck but still be near civilization, culture and water sports (ie Tampa). I'm looking at Port Richey, Hudson, Holiday, Homossassa (is that where they keep all the homos??? Hey I'm a homo I can say that!!!), all the way up to Crystal River, Dunnellon, Floral City. Insights from locals appreciated.

Uhhhhhhhhhh not sure that youre going to find anything in the $35k range in anywhere except the worst part of town!

Fixer-uppers are quite available in that price range esp further north. I don't think Floral City is exactly a war zone. I would settle for a condo tho.
