Default New Farmer's Market coming to Brandon!

I just saw the sign this morning (oddly enough it wasn't there yesterday afternonn-atleast that I saw...) a sign saying Farmer's Market-Coming Soon!
I'm excited! For those of you who live here in Brandon-it is going to be on Providence and Bloomingdale. It's in the little new plaza where the Suntrust is.

I don't know when they are going to open, but I am sure soon...

Thats basically where I live... the problem with that corner is access. Nobody seems to know that you have to go down a little street to access it from east to west on Bloomingdale. That plaza was poorly designed but I hope a farmers market makes it... quizno's went out of business there and the squirrels bbq guy just got into there... I dunno. I bank at suntrust so thats handy...

I agree with you here, the location of the plaza isn't the greatest. It's up on a hill and only 1 way in-for the most part. I remember trying to go to the new Quizno's only to find them closed. I knew about that Squirrel's BBQ because they were handing out flyers. I hope they make it. Let's hope the Farmer's market will help that plaza flourish...

That Quiznos had bigger issues than location. While it was a poorly planned shopping center, it'll do ok with the right businesses in there.

Bigger issues? Like what? I thought there was one on 60, but I couldn't find it...

If Squirrels lowers his prices or offers lunch specials I could see it, but, I drive by that plaza twice a day at least and it is dead except for Suntrust. I don't see how that nail place can hang on unless they keep claiming a loss for five years...

If you take the back exit you are staring at 1950's mobile homes... I don't think they planned that plaza very well, and thats a shame. It is a good location. I think the old gas station/convenient mart that blew up did better business than all of the current/past tenants combined.

All I know is the one at the new shopping center and the one on Lumsden closed at nearly the same time and that both were run by the same franchise owner.

I only had Squirrels once, when it was still down at the corner being run out of the RV. It wasn't bad food but it was overpriced. I hate to see a formally successful small business fail but I don't expect to see it stay around long in the new location. I hope that the farmers market doesn't have to charge absurd prices to make rent there. Otherwise they'll be in and out in a couple of months too.

There was originally a phase II for the center that would have gone in where the mobile homes are. I'm sure those plans are gone now. When that nail salon building was being built I was sure it was going to be a Chik-filet. I couldn't believe it when the salon signs went up.

Yes, the Squirrels-but I didn't ever look at their pricing. I never really looked behind the plaza either, I have only been in there to the Suntrust. Interesting though...and that's what happened to that Marathon station? It blew up? I remember going there a few times and there was a post office in there as well. It was convenient because the lines were not long as they are on Oakfield and off of 60. What ashamed...

But the Farmer's Market, it would be great if it made it...all indoors-that's nice...
