Hey all, I've been researching a lot of places in Florida. I stumbled upon Safety Harbor and I was wondering how the hospitals were around there? I'm finishing up my RN and I'm trying to find a good hospital to work at. How is Mease Countryside Hospital? Thanks everybody for your help, I really do appreciate it!

We've only been to the ER a couple times, but it seems like a really nice hospital. It's the only place we would go. I have know knowledge as far as working there, but the employees seem happy enough.

I'm a non-working RN. Attended an inservice presentation recently by a staff cardiologist from Mease and was very impressed - and the facility was nice. Good luck with your NCLEX.

Thanks for your input guys!! The only thing I'm worried about is when I look up jobs there they want a Florida RN licenses and at least a year experience. I have neither and I'm wondering if anybody knows what I would have to do to get my licenses down there? I'll have to research, but is there NCLEX different? Thanks everyone for your help! Board Overview - Florida Board of Nursing - Board Overview to see - I understand that there are a few online classes that you need to complete - I'm licensed in Texas right now and have been procrastinating getting a FLA license (not working now) -
NCLEX is national - don't you have to take it soon after you graduate?
Maybe you should check into the VA Hospitals to get experience - in St Pete or Tampa - then move to your desired hospital after getting experience.
Then there's Army nursing (smile) - I'm an expert on that.

Thanks BucFan! I talked to my uncle and he said that there's a few classes and a state board test I'll have to take. I'll be researching and not moving for awhile, so I'll have a lot of time to figure everything out.

I did some clinicals at Mease Countryside and really enjoyed it. I think it would be great to apply to the MPM hospital system, they have magnet certification.
