I only shop from the major retailers which is more safe...I never put any enveloppe with a check in my mailbox (mail is always ake out right after the mail is delivered) and important mail goes to my P.O. Box...so that is less chances of getting id theft....

The most chances are in a restaurant for me, but we don't go so often, so lss chances but still a possibility...but than again I check my online account everyday. so I would catch it soon and not weeks later!

Being proactive, like you are, certainly helps the problem from happening.

If it happens I'll be on top of it, before much damage is done

Btw I called BoA today regarding the disposable credit card numbers one person mentioned on this forum which sounds great but if everybody uses them, it might be a very costly product..., BoA had never heard of it!

Use the right tool for the right job. Some guy getting paid 10 rupees a day to answer the phone can't be relied on for anything beyond the basic set of scripts he's been given.

I can use the internet and use a phone and I'm a premier banking client, so I get to talk to a personal manager and also called the call center and looked on their website...nothing...maybe another bank might have it, but I also are smart enough to understand if all people buying online will use this disposable cc, it will cost us all a lot of money and I'm not sure if it weighs against the id theft chances...after all it can happen to all of us, but mostly to the people who don't take care of their mail, cc, etc...they have more chances...

Lol you are just making up silliness to be obstinate. The marginal cost of an individual user of disposable numbers is near zero. It's all automated. All it takes is to prevent one case of fraud and it's paid for that user at least a thousand times over.

As for your fear of stuff being stolen from your mailbox, that's penny-ante. The real money is in the databases online because the amount of work required to swipe a million CC#'s is not that much greater than the amount of work to steal one CC# from your mailbox. There are literally clearinghouses of stolen CC# databases on the darkweb where millions of CC#s trade hands regularly.

That's funny. I just typed "shopsafe" into the main search box on BoA's home page, told it I was in florida and it came right up. So, google doesn't work for you, the link I provided didn't work for you and now the main page of BoA doesn't work for you. I think obstinate may be too kind.

I'm able to talk to my branch manager whenever I want. I like Suntrust. Very customer-service oriented.
