Moving from Northern Virginia back to the Tampa Area
Hi all,
I am wanting to get some information on good areas to live for an invidual looking to be employed in the Downtown Tampa or Mac Dill AFB area. We are looking for an area outside of Tampa, within 20-30 miles, that is family friendly and good schools, of course. We are also looking forward to purchasing a home with some space, at least 1/4 acre. I have looked in many areas Land o Lakes, Plant City, Brandon area, New Tampa, etc. I think for the money and quality of life, Land o Lakes, lutz, and plant city areas are the more calmer areas. I don't mind traffic so much, but want to be in an area that I won't be afraid to let my child outside the house.
Can anyone advise.

Land O'Lakes and Lutz would be my choices, but I would stay out of Plant City - not much there and too focused on the farming community.

You are on the right path. You will find more of what you are looking for in LOL, Lutz, and New Tampa. Also consider Welsey Chapel, many great developments up there. Also, you could consider going East to to Riverview/Lithia area and look at Fishhawk Ranch...great development and schools. Send me a note if you would like more info on any of the areas.

Yes, If you could I would really appreciate it if you could send me some links to these areas. By the way how rural is land o Lakes and Lutz? About how long would it take me to commute to Mac Dill AFB? I appreciate the responses.

More brain picking
Has anyone heard of or have any knowledge of Lake Padgett Estates? I have seen a few houses for sale in the area and seems to have alot of ammenities for home owners; Lakes, parks, etc. I would imagine there is a hoa, not to thrilled about that, but maybe it is not too strict?!!?!?  Also, any info on the schools in the area?
