Does anyone know a decent high-rise that rents for below $2,000 per month, preferably with 2 bedrooms?

only 2 real high rises to rent in Tampa. Element and SkyPoint.

Element is currently run by a leasing company. It was originally intended to be condos, the apartments and southern views are incredible. I have toured the property myself. They have 2 bedrooms starting at 2100 a month. Southern views (skyline/bay) will cost more, and for each floor you go up, they add $10 to the monthly rent.

SkyPoint made it up before the market crashed. they are private condos, but there are always advertisements owners renting their condos in that building. I know someone who lives on the 23rd floor, with a southern view. The view is better then element IMO. U of T looks amazing at night when you look down upon it. Element doesn't quite boast the same views, as SkyPointe partially blocks the view of U of T

These buildings are adjacent to eachother on the north side of downtown and have a few cool bars/resturants near by. SkyPoint has a few on the main floor. Both buildings are built extremely well and have concrete ceilings in the apartments for a cool urban look, 10 foot ceilings and floor to ceiling windows.

FYI, the view from the lower floors in element facing south sucks, because you are level with the TECO building that has a terrible garbage ridden roof top. You really need to be 20th floor or higher.

I will consider leasing in element or SP when more people move in. Downtown isn't quite "there" yet. It is still predominantly commercial and more of a ghost town at night.

If downtown living is a must, you might consider "The Place" or "Grand Central" which are both in the channelside district. each are about 9 floors, and both will give you amazing downtown views while still being a walk away from dining and entertainment in channelside. They are also a bit cheaper to rent then the two high rises.

Thank you for your insight. Is the Grand Central in a nice area? I mean, is it safe and all?

P.S. I have done some research on this, I'm not moving for a while but want to know where I want to re-locate within the next couple of years

Are you looking for a place in Tampa, St. Petersburg?

I wanted to live downtown St Pete when I arrived in Fl in august. Anything that suited me; nice, safe area, good size apartment, was way over my budget.

I changed my priorities; now I rent in a building overlooking boca ciega bay. It is newly renovated, well maintained.

Much less money, beautiful views. 5-10 minute drive to downtown St Pete.

Sounds nice, what town is it in? I am open to either downtown Tampa or St. Petersburg.

The feedback I received from two separate Skypointe residents was negative. Both said it was too noisy (paper thin walls? IDK). Others may differ.

Checkout rentals at places like Art Loft Studios, One Laurel, Skypoint and Element downtown...Post Harbour Island properties; Chanenslide properties like the Towers, Slade, Victory Lofts, The Place, Ventana, Grand Central; and the Condos along Bayshore Blvd. I would work with a realtor that specializes in rentals for the Private condos in the areas I listed above.
