We used Gulfstream Pools and loved their work. They come out and design a pool for your backyard on a computer. Not sure of the others as we didn't use them but check the Better Business Beureu (sp) for the companies your looking at.

Default Check out the BBB on Anthony & Sylvan first...

Anthony&Sylvan does not have a good BBB rating.

I built a pool 6 years ago with Tri-County. They did a good job although we were not that happy with the tile color and they were a little reluctant to help but ultimatly did. They were also pretty good to work with on getting the surface right and the design was nice. Had the pool for 6 years and never had any problems with it and it was not screened in and it was surrounded by oak trees (thank goodness for the pool boy!)

We moved last year and just finished building a pool with Riviera Pools. We built a raised wall pool with a black surface (which self heats by the way and is WONDERFUL!) and we put the saline chlorination system in. We LOVE the pool and spa. They did a nice job but they were slow, their workers left their trash in my yard and we're still working on some issues many months later (little details) It was expensive but it's a big pool with a big spa and an oversized brick deck. They were not the low bidder on the job (but they were cheaper than Tri-County which is why we didn't go back) and we knew they had experience with a raised wall pool (it's 18" high above grade so you can sit on the edges all the way around).

My neighbors built with Anthony&Sylvan and were very disappointed.

I have three neighbors who are building with Coastal right now and I'm impressed at how fast they are going in (but it may be because they have three jobs in the same neighborhood at once??).

Anyway, Tri-County is good. Riviera is good but slow and Coastal seems to be good/reasonable and fast.

Good luck to you!

I am trying to put a pool too. I am also finding it really hard, specially price wise.

I never looked at the other 2, but Anthony Sylvan is really expensive in teh decking. We are looking into pavers and they want $8.50 sqft. Decking companies charge between $4.50 and $5.50 sqft, and other pool companies beteween $5.50 and $6.50.

Did you already start, who did you made your decision with and what made you ake that choice?. I would love to listen to your feedback, please.

We are really sticker shock.

Thanks

My vote is for Landmark pools. They did an outstanding job on our pool. Delivered what they promised, show up on time and every time and finished promptly. Would recommend them over and over again. Let me know if you want to see a picture.

Default Pool Companies and Pricing

I am also in the market for an inground pool with water falls, spa, brick paver deck and I have been given estimates as high as $60,000 for a pool in Odessa. I find these prices a bit higher -- Does any one know what the going price is for a pool of 15' x 32? Are there any recommended pool companies outside of the ones listed in this thread (Riviera, Gulfstream, Landmark)?

Default not Village Pools

I definitely would stay away from Village Pools. I know anyone can make a mistake, but Village Pools would not stand behind their product. I have photos of our pool that is being redone because the aggregate is worn down to the concrete. We've have 4 pool companies verify its poor workmanship and not the chemicals. Our pool is treated by a pool company that has records. Village Pools did come out but just blamed the chemicals in the pool. Said that they wouldn't do anything because the alkalinity was so bad that the stair handle and pool light would be eaten away. But the pool light and the stair handle are fine. They would not agree to anything. We just have holes in the finish that go clear to the concrete. Oh, our pool is now 5 years old. You can't swim because the aggregate clouds the water when it's stirred up. The problem began after 3 years and has just gotten worse. Too many good pool companies out there that will give you service when there is a problem to deal with these people.

Mirage Pools is good. If you need contact info, send me a DM. BTW, I am not compensated for referrals I've just been impressed with their work. And they correct other company's screw ups, too.
