Yes, you need a dog too!

Seriously though it is difficult if not impossible to do it without a cat ( I mean car). Not only for work but for shoping and other things that you might want to do. There is a long wait time between buses and you will be spending most of your time just trying to reach a place. Perhaps somebody who makes it without a car can comment here.

Good luck

Yes you need a car.......I guess it depends what field you're in, some do better than others as far as job availability is concerned......

Mass transit? what's that?

Ok, seriously now...yeah, you do and not just Tampa, FL in general...and this is why:

1. public transit is non-existent, unless you want to sit and wait (in the heat/rain) for it for an HOUR! (and ride with the bums)
2. few places are in walking distance to jobs and even so, would you want to get to work all sweaty?
3. generally everything is within several miles, would you carry groceries for several miles? in the heat/rain?
4. taxi is expensive given the distances
5. unless you live close to the beach (walking distance, or right on which is expensive) you will have to be prepared to drive 15/20/30 minutes to get to one...

Your call...LOL but you could use a cat too, they like palmetto bugs....and spiders.....LOL

1) The mass transit is practically non-existent, as others have stated.
2) There is no job market.
3) Due to #2, there is a possibility that you could end up homeless, so you might want to get a car as you will need somewhere to live.
4) Cat is optional.
5) In case of #3, a dog would be a better choice and be more useful. He could keep guard and could be a source of food, if need be.
6) See the cookbook "Taking the Dog For a Wok" for recipes!

Don't turn up your nose at Szechuan Meow until you've tried it.
