NEW TAMPA - Tampa City Councilman Joseph Caetano is ready to run a business again.

The first-term, elected council member who represents New Tampa and North Tampa is getting ready to reopen his longtime business, Bostonian Hair Studio, at a new location in Wesley Chapel.

The hair salon will open at 2653 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Suite 105, at the Shoppes of Wesley Chapel, a two-story shopping complex across from the future site of the Wesley Chapel Medical Center.
-----------------------------------

In April 2009, he closed the business he owned at City Plaza for 21 years. He removed his belongings from the leased storefront and put them in storage.

Since then, Caetano has declined requests to discuss his financial situation.

When asked about it this week, he said he wanted to focus on the new business, so he could start making money again.

Councilman Caetano set for new business venture

He paid no rent for months!!! He didn't pay a dime and now he is going to open else where...how is this possible...the man is a scam artist and even paid by Hillsborough County and now starting his business in Pasco....wow, how can he even get a lease? Any other in his position wouldn't get one...

I guess that is true..but customer beware to deal with a business owner like this...and specially in this case the man is also getting a pay check from Hillsborough County...what a bad example!

Because he's another bottom-feeding, scum-sucking government piece of tripe.

He has owned businesses in the area for 21 years.

He ran into hard times like many other people. I didn't see anything in the article about him not paying rent.

There has been a lot about Councilman Caetano in the papers. About how he didnt pay his rent, how he sublet part of the space he was renting to a...coffee shop I believe it was...and how they paid their rent to him, but he never paid the rent to the owner. So when Caetano got kicked out, so did the business he sublet to.

It has been in many articles how he basically scammed the subletters out of their business.

If you click on the link to the public records you can see all the liens for unpaid rent, etc...it is unbelievable that some one who is in public office can do this and still service the public, while not paying a dime to many people/businesses and start all over in the neighboring county in probably an expensive rental unit.

I hope customers go to other businesses who do pay rent and do serious honest business. Even though this man has been in business for a long time, the last couple of years he went bancrupt (that way elimnated to pay debt) and then again showed a track record of unpaid bills....while receiving a pay check from the County!
