How does the Old North East section do with families? Young families? Lots of families with children, great place for families IMO, plenty of activities easy to walk to and parks/water/cultural centers. yes there is crime, due to lots of homes with lots of things in, and closer to downtown and 4th st you are, there are vehicle breakins etc. No worse than a large city, but probably somewhat more than westchase which really is like the burbs. I have many friends there and they are not overly concerned by it, tradingoff location for irritation of crime and having to have alarms maybe. there are worse ones, it will be busy most days and you'll have the accident holds up from time to time. schools are my major thought for you, not great public ones, you should go with private and or magnet, or you may be disappointed.
