I'm new to this forum. I will be relocating to Tampa in June to work for USF. I've read on this forum about the traffic conditions going to New Tampa from USF along 75/275. I was thinking of living in the area west of USF at something like Carrollwood or Citrus Park. On google it says that the commute may be about 25 min approx. I would like to know how the traffic situation is at that neck of the woods. Also how about south of USF around Welsey Park?
Thank you.

Traffic is bad no matter what part of Tampa you are driving in, unless it's early AM.

Or Temple Terrace east & southeast of the unversity. You could walk or bike and not even worry about getting stuck in traffic. (Also could reduce insurance if not using car to commute.)

It depends on where in Carrollwood. You will encounter the most congestion around the Interstate 275 on/off ramps. If you look around the Lake Magdalene, Lake Ellen areas, it shouldn't be more than 15 minutes at peak rush hour. From the center of Carrollwood, provided you're not too far west, it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. The Citrus Park commute will be okay if you know the back route (Citrus Park Drive going east becomes Gunn Highway; cut through Hampton Park, make a right on Lowell and right onto Fletcher to USF would be ~25 minutes.) Also worth noting that the area near the Veteran's Expressway is congested during peak commuter hours so being east of it would be better.
