You really need to see for yourself. There are nice areas of Tampa but they can be pricey. There are also rundown areas too. Why not look in the New Port Richey area? It's not that far from Tampa and it's a nice area.

You should see it first. The run down area of Tampa is BIG! New Port Richey is pretty nice but out kind of far.

Oldsmar is nice, safe and the western border of Tampa-Tampa road becomes Hillsborough Ave. Very close to the airport. There are many nice areas closer than NPR.

I agree with most. See for yourself. Suburban areas like Westchase, Land O' Lakes, and New Tampa are quite nice, but (for the exception of South Tampa/Hyde Park area), most areas with the city limits of Tampa are runned down. The same goes for the areas just outside the city (USF area, Palm River, East Lake Park, and portions of Town 'n' Country (south of Waters and east of Hanley).
