In the word of Maxwell Smart "Missed me by this much". Poured all around me today. I got not a needed drop. Tomorrow's chance is double but that is meaningless until it actually rains. Big thunderheads should be a common sight soon.

There was the most amazing lightning storm I've ever seen about 3 weeks ago. Maybe like 1 or 2am. I'm from up north and I've never seen lightning with that kind of frequency last so long. Every second or so and it lasted well over an hour. Just flashes, not cloud to ground.

I'm looking forward to seeing some nasty storms, and hopefully some tornadoes(hopefully out in the open where they don't hurt anybody). Do they ever hit around the St. Pete area?

You might see water spouts around the bay or gulf but you won't see many tornadoes. There have been a few that rip a awning off or a screen room but not like in OK where you can see them coming.

They call Tampa the lightening capital of the US. Be careful as it can strike you even if it isn't raining where you are.

Hope you all are already prepped for hurricane season. Don't wait like 90% of the population and run into Wally World at the last minute only to find the shelves empty.

The rain has definitely helped my lawn. According to the weather people, we're above average rain fall for the current year. Wonder what the summer will bring?

I'm from MI and live in Denver now. We get some REALLY big storms out east but nothing usually too big in the city I can't wait to move down to Tampa next year and see some of the famous lightning storms. Been down several times during the spring but never got a good storm yet. The thing I'm not really lookin forward to... a hurricane.
