How could an expensive steak restaurant expect to survive in this unemployed-ridden city? I feel bad for the employees, though.

I just heard that a Village Inn is closing in Largo too - wonder if it's the only one in that group? It closes Tuesday, my son and friends are upset, they used to go there once a month for breakfast. There are some long serving staff who will find it hard to replace their income there too.

Village Inn has been experiencing financial troubles for years; Florida is one of the states that kept the chain alive.

I don't know what happened with US 19 in West Pasco. It's a wonderful example of suburban blight in some parts. I can't figure it out.

Most of the people that bought new homes in the early 70's are now dead. It's gone to low class renters that deal drugs and red necks.

The parent company for Village Inn filed for chapter 11 about two years ago. I'm surprised they're managed to keep a few open in the area as long as they have.
What, with all the USF athletes defrauding them:
2 USF basketball players accused of not paying restaurant bill

The quality started going down years ago---they lost focus, raised prices, --- a death sentence in any economy.

Never ate there, menu did not look appetizing to me.....

Now Sam Sneads....that place is delicious! They only have one at the Tampa Intl Airport, otherwise closest is Sarasota....I'd be happy if they replaced one SS with another SS but doubt it will happen.

Poor economy or not....many many overpriced and underflavored restaurants are packed at nights so there is demand out there....

Their "lobster" roll was ALL imitation seafood. I disliked it.

I ate there once. I thought the steak was bland and kinda tasteless. That's why we never went back.

We always prefer Cody's for steak.
