Hi,

We're moving to Florida in October 2010 and my husband will working at MacDill. We want to rent in Pinellas County because of a school we found for our son with special needs in Safety Harbor (Paul B. Stephens). I've been reading on this site for a long time and have a general idea of where to live, but not specific neighborhoods.

Where would folks recommend renting for the easiest traffic to get to and from MacDill? We need to be north of Ulmerton for school busing. Suggestions? We'd ideally like to rent a 3 or 4 bedroom, at least 1,500 square foot, one or two level home/townhouse. We'd like to keep the rent under $2,000. per month.

Any suggestions on specific neighborhoods or rental sites?

Thank you,

Mari

I'd suggest renting in Safety Harbor. It's a great town in Pinellas County, family friendly, close to your son's school and to the Courtney Campbell causeway (which takes you right over to Tampa). Try searching for a place to rent on Craig's List, or contact a local property management company.

Good luck!

Be very careful with rentals on Craig's lists. There's been a lot of problems with ads there, ppl renting houses that are in foreclosure. I would go with a property management instead.

Good point Annie. You never know with the current real estate market. A property management company would probably be a much safer bet.
