I was a managing partner in a dry cleaning shop in New York. Would appreciate opinions if the dry cleaning business is a sound financial one in the Tampa area.

I've used dry cleaners a couple times in the past decade. I'd be the wrong one to ask. I assume the industry has been impacted by home dry cleaning supplies, the economy, and relatively inexpensive clothing prices.

Also, Florida is a very casual state... Mostly I'm seeing -- even professionals on their job-- wearing cottons, and other launder-able materials. I suspect the decline of suit wearing has impacted your industry.

Try contact McNatts Cleaners in Tampa or Quality Plus in Clearwater. While people where casual clothes, many have them cleaned and pressed at a the cleaners for a better appearance.

Good luck,
