I guess, could you couldn't go wrong with either? It seems like you can get more for your dollar in East Lake when it comes to Homes, but is the school district better or equal to Palm Harbors (just the Palm Harbor Univ High area)?

I think both schools have the same ranking. Westlake Village and Indian Trails in Palm Harbor, along with a few other neighborhoods, have the sameor better dollar value than some of the more epensive Eastlake neighborhoods.
Note, not all of Palm Harbor is assigned to PH University. Some Palm Harbor areas are sent to Eastlake and some to Tarpon.

Yeh, I looked at the Pinellas schools maps. It seems that some parts go to
Countryside and some to Tarpon Springs.

Palm Harbor has in IB program and seems to have better reviews by parents and teachers if you go to greatschools.org We are looking at living in Palm Harbor specifically because of PHUHS (palm harbor high)

Great Schools isn't that great of a barometer, and importance over where you live based on that kind of hair splitting seems short-sighted. There isn't any oversight of comments on Great Schools and anyone can say anything about a particular school and have it count toward the overall grade. Think for instance a disgruntled teacher or a wacky parent. East Lake High School is also rated a "10" on Great Schools. Both schools have a School Grade of "B". Your choice is fine, but lessening East Lake's reputation isn't valid.

fair enough! And thanks for commenting - since I posted that I am getting cold feet on moving that far West since I have clients as far as Polk County and down near Fishhawk, South Tampa and possibly even Sarasota. We are also seriously considering the Valrico area - also A and B rated. I think the IB program at PHUHS does offer something that the others don't though. Valrico will put us a bit more centrally located - I hate making decisions based on that rather than schools, but commuting and working is a fact of life.
